The City of Eugene extended its Emerald Express bus service to West Eugene. This included the construction of approximately four miles of street improvements for a Bus Rapid Transit Corridor in Downtown and West Eugene.
CMTS provided construction inspection and technical support services to the City of Eugene, ensuring construction methods and quality were in accord with the City’s standard specifications and permit terms.

Lane County Transit held the design and construction contracts, and the work was monitored under a Development Permit from the City of Eugene to the Lane County Transit District. The project included raised platform bus stations, video schedule and route monitors, ticketing machines and the necessary wire and fiber-optic interconnections, as well as sidewalk and traffic signal improvements, streetscape with planting and street trees, four large rain garden areas, and 12 bioswale drainage/infiltration areas.
The project was constructed in three phases and completed in 2017.
