
This project involved the renovation of existing Hangars 815 and 825 in the old NAS Cecil Field Naval Air Station Airfield. CMTS provided Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) services for the Jacksonville Airport Authority (JAA).


Each existing hangar had a two-story operations space of approximately 106,500 square feet, 56,000 square feet of interior floor area, and a two-story exterior rear concrete and concrete block facade. The General Contractors scope included cleaning, preparation, and painting of the two-story interior walls the concrete block facade the exterior steel roof trusses, cleaning, preparation, sealing and painting of existing exposed concrete flooring, aircraft service point removal and apron repair of the impacted areas for each hangar.

In addition, the scope of work included the evaluation of performance specifications for converting the existing Fire Suppression System to AFFF. Inspection services included Architectural, Civil, Fire Protection, and Environmental Services.
