The Nashville International Airport is experiencing record growth and, in response to this growth, the Concourse D and Terminal Wings Expansion (Project 1) was established with two major program intents:
- To produce more gates for added capacity
- Allow both gate and checkpoint flexibility to enable the implementation of the future Nashville Airport Terminal Lobby and International Arrivals Facility project.

CMTS has teamed up with Hensel Phelps Construction Company to provide Construction Project Accounting and Document Control Services for this project.

The expansion of Concourse D adds six new departures gates, the associated ramp amenities, and function space to support the gates. Also included is the renovation of a significant portion of Concourse C to allow relocation of airport operations during construction of BNA Project 1 and Project 2.

Both the North and South Terminal will be expanded for interim TSA checkpoints and future permanent ticketing check-in counters. Each expanded wing will include concessions, ATO’s, BSO’s and bag claim devices. Throughout this process, an entirely new Central Utility Plant will be completed and transitioned out of the operating terminal to support the BNA Vision. Designed to LEED v4 Certification.
