As part of the countywide rapid transit initiative, the Pasadena Metro Blue Line provides light-rail transit for a route from eastern Pasadena to Union Station and into downtown Los Angeles.

This project consisted of many separate, medium to large-scale projects, including the construction of several bridges, 14 passenger stations, restoration of two historic overpasses, and the construction of the rail line.
CMTS was a member of a major consulting joint venture and offered services in several key areas during both pre-construction and construction phases, which included value engineering, project administration, field inspections and quality assurance, claims control, resident engineering, and project close-out.
