The $1 billion first phase of Tampa International Airport’s master expansion plan included the construction of a Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) and new 1.3-mile Automated People Mover (APM) to link the ConRAC and existing parking garage to the main terminal.

CMTS provided QA/QC control services for this significant project, ensuring proper execution meeting all quality standards.

Completed in February 2018, the 2,300,000 sq. ft. project included 4,400 ready/return spaces, a multi-level QTA, three APM stations, and a 1.4-mile guideway. It added 2,400 parking spaces to the airport’s long term garage, removed 8,500 daily rental car vehicle movements from airport roadways and curbsides, allowed rental car operations to grow, increased efficiency of rental car operations while reducing costs, improving customer service, and eliminating the need for bussing rental car customers.
