UCSF Mission Bay Quantitative Biomedical Research Building

CMTS served as the Inspector of Record (IOR) for the University of California San Francisco Buildings QB3 and 24C. The facility will house the California Institute of Bioengineering, Biotechnology, and Quantitative Biomedical Research that serves as the headquarters for the QB3 Institute.

CMTS is responsible for quality control and quality assurance inspections in areas including site preparation, driven pre-stressed concrete piles, pile caps, grade beams and crawl space slab, and a structural steel frame with metal deck.

CMTS also inspected structural slabs and shear walls, concrete fill on metal deck, miscellaneous steel and iron, exterior cladding systems, including handset travertine stone, glazed aluminum curtain wall and windows, metal louvers, roofing, doors and windows, architectural finishes, laboratory casework and equipment, architectural millwork, elevators, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, building controls and auxiliary systems.

CMTS was responsible for quality control and quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications and with California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 19 and Title 24. Our inspectors filed reports of apparent non-compliance of contract plans and specifications, as well as coordinated approval of life, fire, and safety issues with the Office of the UCSF Fire Marshall.
